Dear Friends,

It is with great sadness to learn of the passing of our dear Fijian friend Chris Yee.

On Wednesday 7th July, Chris succumbed to the deadly coronavirus.

For those lucky people who had the opportunity to know Chris, they will remember him as a gentleman, who would do anything to assist in whatever area was required. He was the backbone of weightlifting in Fiji for the past 20 years. Not only did he volunteer his time to promote the federation but he also assisted so many young lifters over the years. He was a great mentor to so many young people.

His commitment to Weightlifting Fiji was unmatched. As an official he represented Fiji in Games and International events over the many years.

Chris will always be remembered as an extraordinarily kind and generous man. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Our deepest condolences are extended to Weightlifting Fiji and in particular to his family.
