Oceania Commonwealth Games Squad Results

Once again this online tournament that the OWF has organised for the Oceania Commonwealth Games lifters going to Birmingham was an outstanding success.

Attached please find the full results. The tournament was conducted on Sinclair Formula and not by categories. There was prize money attached for each lifter.

There was some outstanding performances. Feagaiga Stowers from Samoa lifted brilliantly in the +87kg category setting a new Oceania senior record in the Clean & Jerk with a lift of 155kg. Jenly Wini from the Solomon Islands lifting at 55.25 kg , totalled 195kg. Missing 90kg snatch, and 112kg clean & jerk. Kiana Elliot from Australia established a new Oceania Senior record in the 71kg category with 121kg clean & jerk. Whilst Sara Cochrane competing in the same category set a new Oceania senior record in the snatch with 100kg and a new total record with 218kg.

In the men, Don Opeloge from Samoa was again in brilliant form totalling 375kg for a new Oceania record and also set a new Oceania record in the snatch with 167kg and winning the first prize. A new Oceania junior and senior record was established by John Tafi from Samoa in the 73kg category with his 297kg Total. His snatch of 131kg and Clean & Jerk of 166kg were also Oceania junior record.

And there were so many other good performances.

Once again, a special thanks must go to Bowen Stuart and his crew for an outstanding webcast. Every tournament online is getting better and better. All in all it was a tremendous weekend of lifting.
